How can food design be used as a tool to evoke emotions and challenge the way we eat?
The “Desígnio” dinner was a project created as part of my undergraduate degree in Design. It explored the act of eating in contemporary times, presenting six rooms, each designed to provoke reflection on how food shapes our behavior. I addressed themes such as loneliness, the future of food, how food connects people, eating as a status symbol, and the act of sharing.
Now, I aim to expand this project by creating a mini-documentary that delves deeper into the challenges of working with food design in an underdeveloped country like Brazil. This documentary will also examine human behavior and our relationship with food, highlighting the emotional and societal aspects of eating.
This project was developed under the guidance of Professor Cristina Abijaode, in collaboration with Fumec University and UEMG, both based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
